Deciding on the perfect color for eyebrows is all about staying true to your hair color.
After all, you could have the most beautiful eyebrow color in the world, but if it mismatches your hair then it won’t look natural.
So what should you do.
Well, if you have brown hair then a taupe shade is normally your safest bet (although you can feel free to dabble in other shades of chocolate, mahogany and tan). Just be sure not to stray too far from the hue of your hair.
And if you have blond locks, then aim to goes just a few shades darker. (This time a light taupe, ash gray or golden blond will probably work pretty well).
When shaping eyebrows with tweezers, you want to be careful you don't pluck too enthusiastically.
Remember, you want your eyebrows to look attractive but at the same time natural. You do not want your brows riddled with sparse patches or an uneven shape.
So what should you do?
Well, an excellent strategy is to first color in the area of the brow you want to keep (using an eyebrow pencil), or use a stencil to apply an eyebrow dye powder. Then simply 'tweeze' the hairs that fall outside of this area.
This way you'll preserve the hairs you want to keep, and have a beautiful set of brows! Easy.
Quite simply, an eyebrow tint is a type of eyebrow dye to color your brows a different shade.
You might you use it to give your eyebrows more definition and to better shape your facial features. Or you might need it to fill in some sparse areas, or if you’ve been a bit over-enthusiastic with the tweezers in plucking your brow.
There are a number of high-quality eyebrow tints on the market, so you’re bound to find one that meets both your budget and needs.
The simple answer is “Yes, you can”. But if you are going to color your brows, you’ll want to avoid using hair dye. That’s because your eyes are very sensitive, and might have a nasty reaction to the chemicals found in many types of hair dye.
Instead, your options are to either select a permanent or semi-permanent eyebrow dye or tint that you can use from the comfort of your own own. Or you can spend a little extra to have them done professionally.
Since we need to tend to our eyebrows on quite a regular basis, it’s usually a good idea to learn how to manage your brows yourself. Just keep the color within a few shades of your natural hair color, and take small steps to build it up gradually in layers, so you can self-correct along the way. Smile – you’ll be fine!
Eyebrow coloring can be a tricky thing if you don’t have a few guidelines to follow.
On the one hand, we want to make them stand out and look attractive and appealing. But at the same time, we need to select an eyebrow color that still looks natural and effortless.
The last thing you want is someone asking if you’ve dyed your hair because your brows look weird!
As a basic rule then, always keep your eyebrow color within a couple of shades of your actual hair color. If you’re blonde, typically choose a brow dye or tint that’s a bit darker. And if your hair is dark brown or black, then dye, tint or pencil your brows a shade that’s a little lighter. This way you’ll achieve a look that’s natural and appealing (and that gets you noticed for all the RIGHT reasons).
A nice eyebrow shape all starts with knowing where each eyebrow should begin and end.
A good rule of thumb is to imagine a vertical line from your nostril, and start your brow from where this line would meet your forehead.
Next, imagine a horizontal line from where your eyebrow starts – An attractive eyebrow shape will end at the same level on the outside of your eye.
While your eyebrows can do a great job of framing your face, make sure you don’t arch them too much. It’s a mistake many women make, and they wind up looking fake and less attractive.
